How to Recover iPhone Data after Factory Reset
“My iPhone get into recovery mode when I was trying to upgrade the phone to iOS 10.3. Apparently, something went wrong and my iPhone got stuck in recovery mode. I looked up the internet and followed one of the tutorials and restored my iPhone to factory settings. I successfully got my iPhone out of the recovery mode but now I lost all the data including my contacts information. I just want to know if there is any way to recover iPhone contacts after a factory reset. Thanks in advance!”
What is factory reset?
A factory restore erases the information and settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod and installs the latest iOS or iPod software. It will completely wipe your device which is why having a backup before the resetting is so important. A factory reset can help resolve issues with your iPhone or iPad if it’s crashing or freezing. Also, before you sell your iOS devices, a factory reset will protect your private information and sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands.
How to recover information from factory reset iPhone?
If having erased the content of the phone you intend to keep using it, you can restore the content to your phone from your backups. There are different ways you can achieve this.
1.Restore an iPhone or iPad via iCloud backup
Now that your iPhone is reset, you’ll have to set your device from the beginning. In the ‘Set Up iPhone’, you have the three options – Set Up as a New iPhone, Restore from iCloud Backup or Restore from iTunes backup – select the iCloud option and you’ll be prompted to enter your iCloud account details. Sign in to iCloud and proceed to “Choose backup,” then choose from a list of available backups in iCloud.
2.Restore an iPhone or iPad via iTunes backup
If you choose Restore from iTunes backup, you’ll be prompted to Connect to iTunes. Plug in your iPhone and you’ll see a screen on iTunes that gives you the option to restore a backup. Click continue and your iPhone will be set up automatically, with the apps being restored from the iTunes backup.
