How to Recover WeChat Messages/Chat History on iPhone

WeChat is a popular cross-platform social media (instant messaging, calling, commerce and payment services) application. It allows you to connect easily with your family members and friends, and share fun moments in life. But sometimes, the WeChat chat history we save on ouriPhone can get lost due to certain reasons.

If we have backed up our WeChat messages before, we can restore your WeChat messages without any trouble. How to Backup/Restore WeChat Messages on iPhone

Step 1: Launch WeChat, and select the Me tab. Then open Settings.

Step 2: Go to Chat > Backup/Restore Chat History:

Step 3: Select Backup, and then tap Select All > Done. You can set a password to protect your backup file or tap on Upload to directly save your backup file.

Step 4: When you are logged in to your new iPhone, select Restore and enter the password (if you set one). The backed-up history will be restored to your device from the server.

How to Recover WeChat Messages without WeChat Backup

Choose WeChat on the left panel, then you will find, listed on the right, all the WeChat accounts that have ever been logged onto on this iPhone. Select the account you want to recover messages from and click View Records to browse the chat history.

Step 4. Click Switch Accounts to switch between WeChat accounts. You can export friends’ profiles by clicking the Export button on the upper right corner, right next to the profile information. To export chat history, click the Export Selected Records or Export All Records. By default, the Hide no conversation box is checked so that only the friends with conversation history will be shown. You can uncheck the box to view more friends.
